8th ACM SIGPLAN International Conference on Functional Programming
(ICFP 2003)
Uppsala, Sweden: 25-29 August 2003
Welcome to the ICFP 2003 home page! Here you will find
the latest information about the 8th International
Conference in Functional Programming.
There is also a more permanent home page for the
ICFP conference series.
ICFP 2003
provides a forum for researchers and developers to hear about the latest
work on the design, implementations, principles, and uses of functional
programming. The conference covers all aspects of functional programming,
from practice to theory, and
from established functional programming languages (such as
Haskell,
ML, and
Scheme)
to novel language designs and the functional aspects of
other programming paradigms.
ICFP 2003 is one of two main
conferences, with associated workshops, that are part of
PLI 2003:
a colloquium on Principles, Logics,
and Implementations of High-Level Programming Languages.
Registration, Travel and Accommodation
To register for the conference, visit
RSL's registration page for PLI 2003.
For travel advice and information about accommodation, follow the
appropriate links from the
PLI 2003 home page.
Programming Contest
The annual pre-conference programming contest
has now taken place.
For further information see the
contest web page.
Results of the contest will be announced at the conference
(see the
conference schedule)
with the award of traditional accolades and prizes.
Conference Papers
In response to the
call for papers
around a hundred papers were submitted to ICFP 2003
on many and various aspects of functional programming.
Here is the
programme of invited and accepted papers to be presented at the conference.
Associated Workshops
Following a good response to the
call for workshop proposals
several more specialised meetings have been organised
as part of
PLI 2003.
Those most likely to be of interest to ICFP 2003
participants are:
Student Attendees
Students who have a paper accepted for the conference are offered
student membership of SIGPLAN free for one year.
As members of SIGPLAN they may apply for travel fellowships from the
PAC fund.
